Safety

Clear boundaries, verified professionals and a simple emergency rule.

MyVetTec is not an emergency service. If your pet is in distress — difficulty breathing, collapse, seizures, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected poisoning, bloating, inability to urinate, or trauma — contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately. Do not use MyVetTec messaging or booking to request urgent help.

Scope of practice

Veterinary technicians on MyVetTec provide supportive nursing care only. They do not diagnose conditions, prescribe or change medications, perform surgery, or override your veterinarian's instructions. If a technician observes something concerning during a visit, they will tell you and recommend contacting your veterinarian.

Verification

Technicians must complete an application that includes identity information, service area, professional experience, animal types served, uploaded certification documents and a background check. Only approved technicians appear in search and can accept paid appointments. Certification expiry dates are tracked and technicians are notified before credentials lapse.

Privacy of your home

Exact home addresses are never shown in search results. A technician receives your full service address only after an appointment is confirmed.

Messaging, blocking and reporting

All communication happens in the MyVetTec platform so there is a record. You can block any user — blocked users cannot book you, message you or see you in search — and our team reviews blocks and reports. Reviews are moderated; technicians cannot edit or remove reviews about themselves.

Preparing for a visit

Keep medications, care instructions and your veterinarian's contact details handy, secure other animals in the home, and make sure the technician can reach the areas your pet uses. Accurate pet profiles — conditions, medications and care needs — help the technician care for your pet safely.
